Nuuk Five Peaks 2026
Grønland
- 25 km
Løbsbeskrivelse fra 2026
Nuuk Five Peaks is a classic local mountain challenge that takes runners across the five prominent peaks located just outside Nuuk. The course forms a single loop and offers a demanding and highly technical mountain running experience in raw Greenlandic terrain.
The race covers 25 km with approximately 2,000 meters of elevation gain. While the route will be fully marked, runners should expect that only limited sections follow established paths. The course primarily consists of off-trail travel across rocky terrain, steep climbs, and exposed ridgelines. Participants should be comfortable with a combination of trail running and light mountaineering, including route-finding between markers and moving efficiently in technical terrain.
The five peaks included in the challenge are:
- Lille Malene / Quassussuaq (443 m)
- Store Malene / Ukkusissaq (772 m)
- Store Malene / Ukkusissaq – second summit (approx. 772 m)
- Kangilequtaat (787 m)
- Kuanninnguit (472 m)
Runners will experience extended ridgeline running, steep ascents and descents, and expansive views over Nuuk, the fjords, and surrounding mountains. The course also passes through Paradis Dalen (the “Paradise Valley”), offering a brief contrast of runnable terrain within an otherwise rugged mountain environment.
Nuuk Five Peaks is designed for experienced trail and mountain runners seeking a technical, scenic, and physically demanding race. Completing the loop represents the accomplishment of a well-known local mountain challenge and a unique running experience in Greenland’s backcountry.
